Kindergarten is taught by Mrs. Moon. She has more than 10 years of experience with these eager and brand new students. She will be using the SteppingStones curriculum developed specifically for Christian kindergarten classrooms in our Adventist school by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists Education Department. SteppingStones is a all-inclusive, comprehensive literature-based program that includes instruction in phonics, science, math, social studies and Bible. All lessons are activity based with lots of movement and student interaction.
Mrs. Moon spices this up with fun and educational activities such as field trips to Patrick Ranch, The Worm Farm and a Christmas tree farm. Two very popular school based activities are the Manners Tea at the end of a unit on manners and the annual 100th day of school celebration (Students and Mrs. Moon dress up how the think they will look at 100 years old) with lots of math activities that include the number 100.
Biblical life lessons are taught throughout the day in addition to daily Bible class.
